At ShelbyREIA, we've done our best to create a Web site that anticipates and satisfies our customers' needs. With that goal in mind, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions. If you do not find an answer to your question here, contact us at 937-369-5191 or jdesmond@starband.net.
What does it cost to join the organization?
The cost is $100 for couples and $75 for singles.
Are you planning to have a library?
Yes, with the association dues, we intend on purchasing various tapes and books that will be available for our membership on a loan basis for FREE.
Are there other discounts available as a result of our membership?
Yes! There are discounts on paint supplies from Sherwin Williams, discounts from Warehouse Depot, discounts on seminars held throughout the State including the Fall Convention in Columbus.
How can I get money to invest -- I don’t have money.
This is a common question, but it has a very positive answer. It has been said, “If you can find the right deal, the money will not be a problem.” If that statement is true, then you should concentrate on learning the business. You could act as a bird dog - someone that locates deals for other investments. Commissions on deals like this are generally between $250 - $500 depending upon the investor and the amount of information that you provide.
Once you understand the business, you will be able to attract money for investment purposes.
I’m not sure that I want to join right away... can I attend one of your meetings?
Yes, you can attend one of our meetings for FREE. After the first free meeting, you may attend other meetings at a cost of $15 / person per meeting. Naturally, we encourage you to simply join the first night to begin saving right away!
Is is true that if I join ShelbyREIA that I can attend ANY OTHER REIA meeting across the State for FREE?
Yes! One of the requirements of OREIA, the State association for real estate investors, is that any groups that choose to affiliate themselves with OREIA, must allow other group members to attend general meetings for free.
